Gravital Talk

Push-to-talk voice between devices, direct and end-to-end encrypted, with no accounts and no central server.

  • Total EncryptionAbsolute end-to-end privacy
  • 170 to 220 msMeasured latency on local wifi
  • HD VoiceNoise reduction and audio correction
  • Android & LinuxOpen source under MIT or Apache-2.0

What it does

  • Push to talk: while you hold the button, they hear you; release it and you listen.
  • Direct: audio goes from one device to the other, without a server.
  • Cloud room: across different networks, the Gravital Cloud server carries the audio without being able to listen, because it stays end-to-end encrypted.
  • End-to-end encrypted: advanced cryptographic protection ensuring no one outside the channel can listen to the conversation.
  • No accounts: invite with a QR code or a link, nothing else.
  • Clear voice: noise suppression and packet-loss correction for high intelligibility.

How it works under the hood

Expand each stage to see how Gravital Talk connects two devices with no accounts and no central servers.

1. Instant pairing via QR code or linkZero accounts · Zero central directory No email or phone number registration required: channel identity is born directly on the devices.
  1. One device generates an ephemeral invitation displayed as an on-screen QR code or shareable link.
  2. The second device scans the QR or opens the link and exchanges initial public fingerprints.
  3. Both devices establish a direct session without querying any user database.
2. Secure connection and end-to-end encryptionTotal Encryption · Ephemeral Keys Every session negotiates its own symmetric keys that authenticate and encrypt every voice packet.
  1. Devices perform a secure key exchange directly between terminals to protect the channel.
  2. Every audio frame is encrypted and authenticated mathematically before leaving the device.
  3. Any tampered packet or unauthorized traffic is dropped immediately.
3. Real-time voice streamingLow Latency · Noise Suppression High-clarity compressed audio traveling straight from peer to peer.
  1. While holding the talk button, the microphone captures voice, applies noise reduction and emits clear sound.
  2. Frames travel directly between devices (or through your own optional fallback relay across separate networks).
  3. Releasing the button immediately frees the channel to listen for the reply.

Use cases

  • Store, warehouse and restaurant teams

Coordinate sales floor, kitchen and stockroom over local wifi with sub-quarter-second response.

  • Private communications with no cloud footprint

Talk between trusted devices without leaving metadata or voice recordings on third-party servers.

  • Cross-device desktop and mobile operations

Connect Linux workstations and Android phones with a single press.

Status

  • Android 7.0 or later and Linux x64.
  • On the same wifi: 170 to 220 ms from cue to sound, measured between a laptop and a phone.
  • Across different networks: cloud room through the Gravital Cloud server, online since October 31, 2026; no reliability statistics yet.
  • iOS, Windows and macOS: not yet.
  • Open source under MIT or Apache-2.0.
